Abstract:
Maqam transformations and tonal paths in Samai Saba (Tawfiq Al-Sabbagh) and Sama’i Saba (Safar Ali) (a comparative study) Dr/shimaa elshahat omara The Samai template is one of the Arab templates that are recognized in our Arabic music. Many pioneers of Egyptian and Arab composition composed for this template. The multiplicity of compositions for this template, as well as the diversity of musical compositions for the Samai template according to the scale and multiplication used. The researcher has noticed, through her experience in teaching Arabic music, that instrumental musical works in the shrine of boyhood are few, especially in the generations of contemporary authors. Choosing (Safar Ali), representing the Egyptian musician, who was born in 1883 AD, and (Tawfiq Al-Sabbagh) as representing the Syrian musician, who was born in 1892 AD. Each of them has authored several works in the shrine of (Al-Saba), the most prominent and important of which are (Sama'i Saba Safar Ali) and (Sama'i Saba Tawfiq Al-Sabbagh). This was a starting point for the researcher to compose Sama’i in the Maqam Al-Saba, derived from the style of both Safar Ali and Tawfiq Al-Sabbagh in composing the Sama’i template for this study, which the researcher hopes will open the door to composing in this regard and enrich the compositional movement in our Arabic music. Research problem: The problem of this research stems from the importance of (Maqam al-Saba) in our Arabic music and the lack of literature in this regard as well in the method of maqam conversion and the difference between the Egyptian school represented in (Safar Ali) and the Syrian school represented in (Tawfiq al-Sabbagh), and also the difference deals with the Maqam al-Saba in Drafting the structural structure of an audio template was the basis for this study. research importance : The importance of this research stems from the importance of the shrine of youth and the lack of authorship in it, as well as the importance of the writings of Safar Ali, which represent the Egyptian thought in the formulation of Egyptian literature, and the writings of Tawfiq Al-Sabbagh, which represent the Syrian thought in the formulation of Syrian literature. The study sees the compositions of each of them in books and references. Rather, the professors of Arabic music use them in the curricula of playing, analysis and composition. By studying such compositions, the student benefits from the old compositions, the materials of Arabic music. research aims: This research aims to: 1. Getting acquainted with Safar Ali's style of composing the Samai template in Maqam al-Saba, how to deal with Maqam and methods of tonal conversion. 2. Identifying the method of Tawfiq Al-Sabbagh in his composition of the Samai template in Maqam Al-Saba in Maqam Dealing and the methods of tonal conversion 3. Identifying the structural composition of the Samai template in Sama'i Saba Safar Ali and Sama'i Saba Tawfiq Al-Sabbagh. 4. Doing a comparative study of the Maqam transformations and the tonal paths in each of the two Sama'i Saba Safar Ali and Sama'i Saba Tawfiq Al Sabbagh. Research questions : 1. What is the method of Safar Ali in composing Qalb al-Sama’i in Maqam al-Saba and how to deal with Maqam and tonal conversion? 2. What is the method of Tawfiq Al-Sabbagh in his composition of the Sam’i template in Maqam al-Saba and how to deal with Maqam and tonal conversion? 3. What is the structural composition on the structural composition of the Sama’i template in both Sama’i Saba Safar Ali and Sama’i Saba Tawfiq Al-Sabbagh? 4. What are the comparative elements in maqam dealing and tonal conversion methods in the two works? The search contains: Procedures, then previous studies and terminology. - Theoretical framework and dealing with the heavy audio template and the composition and personality of each of the two tuners. - Analytical framework and dealing with the analysis of the selected sample. - Comparative study. - Research results and recommendations. Then the researcher concluded his study with a summary of the research and a list of references that he relied on in documenting his study.
