The study examined the impact of economic reform policies in Egypt on the securities market, which began with the economic openness reforms in the 1970s and culminated in the structural adjustment and privatization program in the 1990s. These policies led to a noticeable improvement in market indicators, such as an increase in the number of listed companies and the value of trades. This was achieved through the enactment of investment-attractive laws, such as the Capital Market Law No. 95 of 1992, and the liberalization of interest and exchange rates. The analysis focused on the determinants of market performance. The results revealed an inverse relationship between interest rates and the volume of investment in securities, and a positive relationship between lower inflation and increased market activity. Privatization also played a pivotal role in stimulating trading activity, despite being accompanied by challenges such as the inopportune timing of share offerings and unclear pricing mechanisms. The study concluded that economic reform policies were generally successful in revitalizing the Egyptian securities market. However, it recommended addressing certain obstacles to ensure the market's continued growth. These include enhancing transparency, improving market liquidity, diversifying financial instruments, and adopting clear and stable economic policies to boost investor confidence.
