The study aims to analyze the role of expatriate remittances in enhancing financial inclusion levels in developing countries, assess their alignment with the specificities of the Egyptian context, and verify the non-linearity of the relationship between. The study relied on a sample of developing countries that receive remittances, amounting to seventy-one countries during the period 2004–2021. This sample was selected based on the availability of data. The study applied the fixed effects model (FEM) and dynamic panel data (DPD) to estimate the role of expatriate financial remittances in promoting financial inclusion and to verify the non-linearity of the relationship using the Ramsey RESET test and auxiliary regression. The study concluded that remittances to developing economies have a positive effect on enhancing the level of financial inclusion. Furthermore, the impact of these remittances on financial inclusion in Egypt does not differ significantly from their effect in other developing economies. The study found no evidence of a non-linear relationship between expatriate remittances and financial inclusion. However, indicators of institutional quality and human development were found to exhibit a non-linear effect on the level of financial inclusion.
