Abstract:
Background: Juvenile idiopathic arthritis is a chronic condition with periods of remission and periods of flare-ups that require a trajectory of constant adjustment. So, the needs of the child with JIA and his family must be met for optimum adjustment to the stresses imposed by the disorder. The process of nursing assessment should encompass the identification of both strengths and areas for improvement, as perceived by the caregivers. Nurses have the ability to support families in navigating the difficulties and responsibilities associated with caring for a child with JIA. This can be achieved by involving the family in decision-making, facilitating effective communication between the family and healthcare professionals, as well as offering valuable information regarding available treatments, treatment options, and different aspects of care.
