Abstract:
Toxicology is described recently as the adverse effects of chemical agents on the living organisms. During our lives, some habits start with us from first smoking of cigarettes and then continue with us with difficulties in stopping. Most smokers are well aware of the side effects of smoking too much and cannot stop smoking or withdraw the cigarette effects during their day. It will take some trials to learn how to moderate your smoking rate as it mainly depends on decreasing nicotine dose during your day and by using some potent dietary antioxidants like resveratrol that can greatly diminish the oxidative stress that is caused by the triggering of the free radicals induced by excessive consumption of nicotine and smoking habits. It is well documented that nicotine administration causes a significant increment in lipid peroxidation and tumors incidence, and reduces significantly antioxidant enzyme activities of the vital tissues such as lung, liver, kidney skin, and brain and thus parallel to the increment in the inflammation markers and the development of the histopathological changes besides the side effects, especially on fetus and children. As previously reported, the administration of resveratrol mitigates tissues injury and alleviates the nicotine oxidative stress effect especially on lung tissues. The recommended daily dose of resveratrol ranges from 100 to 500 mg/kg to alleviate the oxidative stress. This is associated with improving all the biochemical parameters and vitality of the tissues and thus we recommend using resveratrol as a potent dietary antioxidant against oxidative stress induced by nicotine.
