This paper studies the effect of corruption on long-run growth in Egypt during the period (1990-2014)، based on the methodology Co integration using The Bounds Testing Approach and building on The Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL). Unlike previous empirical studies. the results have supported both of positive and negative impact of corruption، where the results showed a positive effect of corruption on economic growth using two indicators of corruption they corruption perception index، and control of corruption. Which supports the hypothesis (Grease the Wheel)، while came the impact of corruption index (ICRG) negative، which supports the hypothesis (Sand in the Wheels). These results are robust against different tests (Robustness).
