The research focuses on architectural design process through pattern language, which was founded by Christopher Alexander who is one of the architectural theorists, Alexander produces his famous book A Pattern Language, this book assumed that the architectural design structure match the linguistic structure, so it has vocabulary and syntax, both of those elements formulate a certain architectural language, and as the modern arts museums always expressed a contemporary architectural thinking, it make a reflection of different countries character far from classic expressionism. Researchers choose this category of buildings under a limitation that it should be built at the last decade, so it can achieve a symbolic compatibility for the latest architecture compositions, the research aimed to get the benefit of the pattern language in producing modern art museums pattern languages, from composition point of view. that can help in the new designs of that category of buildings in the future, a combined strategy methodology used at this research joined the experimental and case study methods, that strategy composed data which was analyzed to produce the proposed pattern language for modern arts museums
