Abstract:
Sixty immature and mature male albino rats were used. Theimmature and mature male rats were divided into two groups, thefirst (1 st ) group of both immature and mature rats were consideredas control group (No= 10 rats) and was administered the corn oilvehicle only. the 2nd group of both immature and mature malealbino rats ( treated group, No= 20 rats) was treated with BPA20}lg/kg b.wt/ day for 65 days. The present study was carried out to investigate the toxiceffect of xenoestrogenic compound BP A on the chromosomes ofbone marrow cells, male reproduction and histopathological picture(examination) of different organs in exposed immature and maturemale albino rats.Cytotoxic effect of BP A:The results of the cytogenetic studies with BP A that orallyadministrated to immature and mature male albino rat at dose level20}lg/kg b.wt/ day for 65 day revealed that BP A is genotoxic agent, where there was an increase in the mean value of total structuralchromosomal aberrations in the form of break, gap, centromericattenuation, deletions ,ring chromosome, end to end associationand sticky chromosomes. In addition to increase in the mean valueof numerical chromosomal aberration in the form of hypoploidy inboth immature and mature groups when compared treated withtheir corresponding control group.
