Abstract:
As a result of the great deal of attention and interest which have beenrecently directed toward the study of free radicals, lipid peroxidationproduct arid the possible role of antioxidants. This work was designed tothrow further light on the scavenger effect of three naturally occurringproducts, silymarin, whey protein and Brewer’s yeast when usedindividually or in combination. The present study deals with the determination of some antioxidantenzymes as superoxide dismutase, catalase and reduced glutathione inaddition to lipid peroxidation marker (malondialdehyde), and some bloodparameters as total proteins, albumin, globulins, A/G ratio and Hbconcentration in wistar rat.A total of one hundred and fifty healthy male Wistar rats, weighing120±10 gm B.W. were used in this study. Rats were purchased fromHelwan farm for laboratory animals, and housed in standard metal cages inhe laboratory house in Biochemistry Department, Faculty of Vet.vledicine, Zagazig University under strict observation, with free access to:ap water and food ad libitum for an accommodation period of two weeksmd all over the time of the experiment.\ats under study were randomly divided into five equal groups, each of 30ats as follow:- Control group: Rats received normal saline.
