Cefotaxime has proved to be one of the most valuable drugs for the treatment of severe respiratory infection, urogenital infection, meningitis and septicemia and also piroxicam has beenproved to be one of the most valiable drug for analgesic, anti- inflammatory and antipyretic action. The combination between the two drugs could be used for treatment of infection and reliefof pain.The present study was contrived to study the adverse effects of cefotaxime, piroxicam and both of them on developing pregnant rats and their foeti .In the present study forty mature female rats were mated with twenty male rats.On the first day of gestation which detected by vaginal smears; the females were divided into 4 equal groups each of ten as the following:-120±10 gm B.W. were used in this study. Rats were purchased fromHelwan farm for laboratory animals, and housed in standard metal cages inhe laboratory house in Biochemistry Department, Faculty of Vet.vledicine, Zagazig University under strict observation, with free access to:ap water and food ad libitum for an accommodation period of two weeksmd all over the time of the experiment.\ats under study were randomly divided into five equal groups, each of 30ats as follow:- Control group: Rats received normal saline.
