Abstract:
This study was planned tu explore the variations that occur in some haematological, biochemical ann histopathological alterations accompanying the alopecia affecting Egyptian calves, as well as applying treatment trials and control in order to approach toBlood and serum samples were obtained from each examined animal for haematological and biochemical studies. the presence or absence ofblood parasites and also used for differential leucocytic count.Skin scraping samples were used for exclusion and identification dermatophyies and metazoan parasites. Samples of hair, soil and ration were taken for detection of various trace elements including zinc, copper, iron and manganese. Faecal samples were collSkin biopsies for histopathological examination. After clinical, haernatological, biochemical, parasitological and histopathological examinations, in addition to hair analysis, the examined animals were classified according to their physiological and pathseason, while it varied from 0.108 to 0.883 ppm with a mean of 0.361 ppmduring winter season. It was noticed a highly significant seasonal variationof Cd levels during two different seasons (P:sO.O 1). The overall mean of Cdwas 0.241 ppm. Statistical analysis indicated that 33 (82.5%) out of 40 rawmilk samples having Cd above its permissible limit. The calculated dailyintake of Cd was 48.2 ug for adult person and this value representing. 68.850/0 of provisional AD!. Mercury levels in raw’ milk samples ranged
