Experimen Pathologic Studies On Some Anthelmintic D rugs Combined With Antipyretics In Albino Rats

Abstract:
Two hundred and seventy albino rats of different sex were used in thisexperiment. They were divided into two main experiments (1 & 2). Firstexperiment (therapeutic dose treated group). It was divided into 9 subgroupseach of 15 rats and given paracetamol, novalgin, levamisole, citarin alone orin combination by orally, IIM or SIC injection respectively daily and weeklyfor 3 months. Second experiment (double therapeutic dose treated group). Itwas also divided into 9 subgroups each of 15 rats and given the samecompounds at the- double therapeutic levels and treated by the same mannerat the same intervals with exception of levamisole and citarin when theyinjected monthly instead of weekly.Clinically some rats showed decrease in their body weights and 73.3%,86.7% and 93.3% mortalities of rats treated with double therapeutic dose ofparacetamol alone and in combination with levamisole and citarin.Meanwhile other rats treated with therapeutic dose of novalgin, levamisole and citarin alone showed increase in the body weights.Macroscopically, the liver was congested, friable pale, yellowishstreaks and showed haemorrhagic spots in all experimental rats. It was firmin consistency in some rats received double therapeutic dose of combinedparacetamol-levamisole. The kidneys were congested, enlarged, pale andfriable in all experimental rats. Grayish patches were seen in rats treated
