Abstract:
Examination of 1227 foec2l samples of pigeons of different aees from different distinats in SharkinGovernorate rt:vcaled infection rate. w L th pigeons coccidia renched 55.4%. The incidence rate of coccidin•among pigeons of different ages wes 57.9% and 52.6% among those of more thnn 4 months and squnbs of 20 - 30days old respectively, Squabs under 15 da.ys old did not show any 000yets in their f~eces. The seasonal inoidence of Eim8rin species among pigeons was 60.;%, 56.5%, 54.0% and 54,1% during the summer, spz-Lng , autumn and winter aon s ons respectively The during the surme.r aea son, then follovve(1 by the winter, spring and Lae t.Ly cut um., where it rC:::1ched 69.0, 58.0, 57.0 ond 48 .os:~ respectively. But among squabs it was58.0, 55.0, 47.0, and 51.0% during the spring, autumn, winter and surmoz- season respectively. Two species of Eimeria were detected in pigeonscollected from Sharkia Governorate, ~.iand E. c o Lumbae , Oocysts of E. 13.bbG~~J;.8 were sphoricalto subsphericnl in shape being 17.25 (13.55 - 22.38) u
