Abstract:
The thesis consists of two parts , the First part includes three Chapters and the Seonnd part includes appendixes conttaining the pracctical study of The Scarlet Letter.Chapter One gives a theorretical background to the term stylistic and its relation to linguisties. In addition to the various definitions of the term stylistic. It also sheds light on the aim and value of stylistic, form and content in language, and the importance of studying grammar.In Chapter two, the methodology of the study is given, the definitions of each stylistic feature of Hawthorne’s various stylistic features employed in The Scarlet Letter, along with parsed examples from the novel, are given.In the Chapter three, the hypothesis as well as the statistics of the study are given, then a conclusion, in which the findings of the statistical analysis are stated. After that, only the conclusion of the stylistic study of each character is given to avoid any obstruction in reading, that may result from the immense number of parsed narrative sentences which the majority of them tend to be long and complex with numerous complex parsing symbols; as well as to achieve easiness in flow of thoughts hich, in turn, helps in keeping the reader’s intiled” Appendixes: practical part”.Chapter one
