Abstract:
This study was carried out in Central Laboratory for Aquaculture Research, Abbassa, Abou-Hammad, Sharkia Governorate during the season of 2009.br>Transport fry in open systems and closed systems at different densities of silver carp were used to evaluate some study parameters on water quality and survival of fry. The objectives of the present study are: 1. Application of scientific methods for fry transportation. 2. Identification of methods for fry transportation. 3. Identification of the best fry density for fry transportation. 4. Identification the suitable time for fry transportation. 5. Identification the best system for fry transportation. Study the effect of using three different containers (polyethylene .bags, cylindrical and cuboids were manufactured from plastic .board) were filled of 5l from the same water in the pond, stocking. densities of fry (30, 60, 90 and 120 g/l), with two systems of aeration (pure oxygen and atmospheric air) and durations of transportation of silver carp fry (2, 4 and 6 hours) on water quality and fingerling production. The results were showed that, theoxygen concentration and survival ratio were increased (7.12 mg/l, 97.11%) in polyethylene bags, compared with cylindrical containers (5.03 mg/l, 92.6%) and cuboids containers (4.97 mg/l, 87.73%). The total ammonia concentration and pH value were ,decreased (1.1 mg/l, 6.35) in polyethylene bags, compared with cylindrical containers (1.4 mg/l, 6.43) and cuboids containers (1.5, mg/l, 6.46). These results were recorded at 30g/l stocking density, 2 h duration of transport, pure oxygen supply comparison with parameters studies.
