Studies on postharvest diseases of strawberry fruits

Strawberries considered of the most importantly grown vegetable crop in Egypt recently. Strawberries are grown for fruits and plant production. It has been known that fruits constitute commercially and nutritionally important indispensable food commodity. Fruits play avital role in human nutrition by supplying the necessary growth factors such as vitamins and essential minerals in human daily diet and that can help to keep a good and normal health. One of the limiting factors that influence the fruits economic value is the relatively sort shelf-life period caused by pathogens attacked especially gray mould caused by Botrytis cinerea Pers.: Fr. Our study were to examine the role of modified atmosphere storage conditions when combined with some fruit physical and / or chemical treatments to investigate the efficacy of these combination treatments for decay control on strawberry fruits to effcctively control of B. cinerea as well as fruit quality parameters .
