Effect of Nitrogen Fertilization from Different Sources on soil And Plant Under Saline Conditions

Abstract:
The obtained results can be summarized as follows:Dry matter content, nutrient uptake ”NPK”, yield, yield quality, yield efficiency, 1000 grain weight and NPK concentrations in the soils decreased with increasing soil salinity level. This trend was found true under all nitrogen fertilization treatments. Dry matter content, nutrient uptake ”NPK”, yield, yield quality, yield efficiency, 1000 grain weight and NPK concentrations in the soils were increased with increasing the application rate of mineral-N up to 90 mg N pot-1. under the different salinity levels and then they decreased under the highest application rate of mineral-N (120 mg N kg-1 soil). Dry matter content, nutrient uptake ”NPK”, yield, yield quality, yield efficiency, 1000 grain weight and NPK concentrations in the soils were increased under all the salinity levels due to application of chicken manure or biofertilization by inoculation with N-biofertilizer (Azospirillium braselence). At tillering stage, the plants did not respond to the application of chicken manure or biofertilization by inoculation with N-biofertilizer. The promotive effect of the different nitrogen fertilization sources on dry matter content, nutrient uptake ” NPK ”, yield, yield quality, yield efficiency, 1000 grain weight and NPK concentrations in the soils may follow the order of : mineral-N+biofertilizer > mineral-N + chicken manure>mineral-N. For dry matter content and nutrient uptake ”NPK” at tillering stage, the order was: mineral-N>mineral-N+ biofertilizer>mineral-N+chicken manure.K concentration in plant tissues, generally decreased with increasing soil salinity. However, the Na concentration tended to increase with increasing the soil salinity. This adverse relation between K and Na concentrations in plant tissues was found true under all nitrogen fertilization treatments at all growth stages.
