Abstract:
The present work was carried out at Plant Pathology laboratory conjunction with the laboratory of Pesticides Biotechnology and Molecular Toxicology, Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture, Zagazig University.Fusarium solani and Rhizoctonia solani were isolated and identified from rotted roots of broad bean plants. Also, pathogenicity test was conducted under greenhouse conditions. The effect of Galben Copper formulation (benalaxyl + copper oxychloride) on fungal linear growth and sporulation using poisonous media for both fungi was carried out. Also, residual effect of the fungicide tested on the growth of fungal mycelia and sporulation of Fusarium solani after storing for a month had a limited fungistatic effect. IC50 for F. solani conidiospores was 2.5µg/ml; while, fungicide exposure time on spore germination was activator until 6 hrs then reduced spore viability with increasing exposure time. Acidic medium have activator effect on the fungicide potency. The fungicide caused obvious reduction in mycelial dry weight for both fungi tested, while, inhibited sclerotia formation of R. solani at 500 µg/ml. Beauveria bassiana was more compatible than Trichoderma spp. tested.In greenhouse experiments, the tested fungicide reduced infection of F. solani and has a negative effect on root system of broad bean plants when applied as soil drenching. Also, negative effect was detected on rhizospheric population especially bacteria and less effect on fungi and actinomycetes.
