Abstract:
The electrical behaviour of hydroxyquinoline sulfonic acid and its complexes with Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II) or Cu(II) as well as its salts with Li(I), Na(I) or K(I) were studied over the temperature range 294-420 K. All compounds behave like semiconductors. The stability constants were calculated at different temperatures in order to determine the thermodynamic parameters Delta H, Delta G and Delta S for the complexes studied. The composition and structure of the complexes were followed using conductometric titration and IR measurements.
