Abstract:
some biological aspects of RPW under laboratory condition:The aim of these experiments is to evaluate the biological effects of NeemAzal T and T/S in different concentrations100, 200 and 300 ppm against RPW rearing on artificial diet. The obtained results can be summarized as follows:1. The obtained data cleared that effect of NeemAzal T/S on biological aspects of RPW more than NeemAzal T.2. The percentages of larval mortality were increased by increasing concentrations for both tested formulations.3. The percentages of deformed larvae and pupae were increased by decreasing concentrations for the two formulations.4. The larval and pupal durations as well as adult longevity decreased by increasing azadirachtin concentration.5. Pupation and adult emergence decreased by increasing azadirachtin concentrations.6. Moreover, azadirachtin caused morphogenic abnormalities in all developmental stages of the red palm weevils.7. The mortality percentages of the emerged adults from treated larvae were increased by increasing concentrations for the two formulations NeemAzal T/S and T compared with control.8. The percentages of deformed adults were increased by decreasing concentrations for the two formulations compared with control.9. The fecundity and egg hatchability percentages for emerged adults from treated larvae were decreased as concentration increased for the two formulations NeemAzal T/S and T compared with control.10. The hatchability percentages of the treated eggs were decreased as concentration increased, but the incubation periods were increased as concentration increased for the two formulations NeemAzal T/S and T compared with untreated.11. Generally, it seems clearly that NeemAzal T/S reduced the hatchability percentage of treated eggs than NeemAzal T.12. The emerged adults from treated cocoons were decreased as concentration of both formulations increased..
