Abstract:
Two field experiments were carried out at tymour region, El Hosania distrect El-Sharkia Governorate during two growing successive seasons of 2003/2004 and 2004/2005 to find out the effect of organic fertilizer and biochemical fertilizer on yield and quality of three sugar beet varieties. The resulted indicated the superiority of Montbianco variety in root diameter, plant height, no. of leaves / plant, root (fresh and dry) weights/ plant, blades (fresh and dry) weights / plant, petioles (fresh and dry) weights / plant, (top and root) yields ton/fed., sugar loss to molasses %, sodium content, potassium content and alpha amino nitrogen content. However, Gluria variety gave the highest sucrose %, purity%, sugar extraction%, extractability% and alkalinity coefficient.Using compost fertilizer caused significant increase in most growth characteristics as well as top and root yields ton /fed, recoverable sugar yield (ton/fed), sugar loss to molasses%, Na content, K content and alpha amino -N content.Application of 90 kg N / fed + 1000 g. cerialin, 90kg N / fed + 500g. cerialin or 45 kgN/ fed + 1000 g. cerialin as will as 45 kg N / fed +500 g. cerialin increase most growth characteristics as well as top and root yields ton/fed, recoverable sugar yield (ton/fed) and Sucrose %.Correlation analysis showed positive and significant relationships between recoverable sugar yield and most yield components.Path analysis indicated that root yield (ton/fed) had the highest effect on recoverable sugar yield with about 42.37% while root length and root diameter were lowest in this respect.
