Abstract:
The present work was conducted to study the effect of planting methods on corn crop yield and harvesting machines performance, to select the proper planting and harvesting system for corn production, and studying some parameters affecting the performance of planting and harvesting machines. The study was carried out on two different corn varieties (single hybrid 10 and triple hybrid 325), each variety was studied in an independent experiment. Three planting systems were studied, namely manual planting, conventional mechanical planter, and pneumatic planter. The planting machines were tested at different levels of forward speeds of 1.7, 3.3, 5.0, and 6.5 km/h.
