Abstract:
This work was carried out in the two successive seasons of 2002/2003 and 2003/2004 on about 12- year - old Washington navel and Pineapple orange (Citrus sinensis L. Osbeck) trees grown in clay loam soil at 6 m apart grown in a private citrus orchard located at Aga district, Dakahlia Governorate. Eighty four healthy trees from each orange cv. were sprayed at mid Dec., early or mid Jan. with the following 6 GA3 and urea treatments: GA3 at 100 or 150 ppm, urea at 1.0 or 1.5 %, and GA3 at 100 or 150 ppm + urea at 1.0 (for each) in comparison with water sprayed trees as a control. This study was planned to evaluate the effect of GA3, urea and spraying date on flowering aspects, yield, fruit quality and vegetative growth of trees of Washington navel orange as a seedless cv. and Pineapple orange as seedy cv.
