Abstract:
Honeybees are considered the wings of agriculture due to their decisive role on the productivity of most field and horticultural crops as pollinators . In addition, honeybee products (honey, royal jelly, bee wax, bee venom, bee bread, queens bee backage and nuclei) are sources of income allover the year for beekeepers and breeders. Therefore, beekeeping projects are considered alaways of all size projects for investment for higher and rapid income, and so it help in resolving the problem of nonemployees and the new candidates, sepecially the agriculturists. Therefore, the present work was designed to survey nosema and chalkbrood diseases infecting honeybee colonies in some apiaries in Sharkia and Dakahlia governorates during 2002 and 2003. Moreover, some control treatments based on some botanicals were designed to control the infected/ infested honeybee colonies with either nosema or chalkbrood or varroa mite under field condations.
