Abstract:
5. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONThis investigation was conducted during the two successive seasons of 2000/2001 and 2001/2002 on about 32 – year – old Washington navel orange [Citrus sinensis (L.) Osbeck] trees. The experimental trees were originally worked on sour orange rootstock and grown in heavy loam soil at 6 m apart in a private citrus orchard at Aga district, Dakahlia Governorate . This study was planned to evaluate the effect of ten integrated weed control treatments ; i.e. mulching with black polyethylene sheets (PM) or rice straw (SM) with (TPM & TSM) or without winter tillage (T) ; mowing or hand hoeing 4 times / year after winter tillage for each (TMo4 & TH4), tillage, followed by gesagard at 1 kg /fed., followed by sting at 1.5 l/ fed /fruit .
