Genetic studies on anther

This investigation aimed to study the effect of genotype and growth regulators on callus induction and plant regeneration from rice anther cultures. Five rice cultivars were chosen as an experimental material, i. e. Sakha 101, Sakha 102, Sakha 103, Sakha 104 and Giza 177 and their hybrids. Many trails were carried out to study the androgenesis ability.The rice varietes were planted in a randomized complete block design with three replicates at the Experimental Farm of the Faculty of Agriculture, Zagazig University.
