Discharge prediction model for simultaneous underflow-overflow

A generalized discharge equation for predicting the simultaneous flow over rectangular weir and below sluice gate is presented. Also, the equation enables the prediction of the discharge over the weir and below the gate solely. The discharge can be predicted by knowing the geometry of the device and the upstream water depth. The prediction is compared with experimental observations with little deviation of about 3\% in most of the cases.
