Abstract:
Peanut seeds are rich in energry (one pound of peanut seeds provide approximately the energ value of 2 ib of beef. 1.5 Ib of chedder cheese. 1 pint of milk. or 36 medium size eggs).Peanut is well adapted to light sandy. loamy sand and sandy clay loam soil. There is agreat potential for the expansion of peanut cultivation in the new lands. As one of the best oil crops. it would meet a sizeable proportion of the countries edible oilneeds. Pcanut can be succcssfully grown in the newly cultivated sandy soil as a cash crop. While its production in newlycultivated sandy soil face the problem of unfilled pods. The Aim of the present study is to investigatc the effect of planting density. phosphorus fertilization and foliar application With macro and micro nutrients on Plant Growh,Root growth and development as well as seed yield of groundnut in newly cultivated sandy soil under two irrigation systems.
