Abstract:
The cross-sections for the processes 1) p + H(1s) ->p + H(1s, 2s, 2p) and 2) (p) over bar + H(1s) -> (p) over bar + H(1s, 2s, 2p) in the incident energy range from 5 to 1000 keV are calculated numerically by solving the coupled differential equations arising from an impact parameter treatment of these processes within the framework of the two-state, four-state and five-state approximations, taking into account the rotation and back-coupling.
