Abstract:
Reclaiming 2100(ha) by the water which will be taken from lake Nasser feeding the El- sheikh zayed irrigation canal. Additionally, another 2100 (ha)will be reclaimed using the Nubian sandstone aquifers. changing the remote areas in this part of egypt into attraction spots for activities and population. Creating vistas for agriculture, industial and and tourist sectors to contribute to national develoment of productive projects. Attracting the private sector to participate in cementing development in upper Egypt. The aim of this study is to make a spot light on the pedological, physical, chemical and mineralogical characteristics of the soils in this virgin area to be classified and evaluated, currently and potentially, using some landsat images together with applying the updated systems of soil Toxonomy and land suitability approach.
