This study was carried out in the research farm, greenhouse and laboratories of the Genetics Department Faculty of Agriculture, Ain Shams University, Shoubra El-Kheima, Cairo, Egypt during the period from 2001 - 2004. .The main objectives of this study were:1- To evaluate the five more tolerant sorghum varieties IS 2219 A, M 35-1, TX 7078, TX 430 and TX 378 as well as seven sensitive varieties i.e, IS 2219 B Redlan, Martin B, CS 3541, CK 60 B, Tam 428, and TX 7000 to iron deficiency stress.2- To detect some molecular markers associated with iron deficiency based on RAPD-PCR using nine random primers .
