Abstract:
Environmental conditions as thought to exert great diversities in the yield and quality of the crop. improving yield and quality of fibers coud be acheived by using best cultivars and improving cultural treatments.planting dates and time of N application are among the most important factors contributing flax productivity. therefore, the present investigation was to study the effect of planting dates and time of N application, as well as their interaction effects on growth, phsioloical characters, straw and seed yields as well as flax quality.the important cultiviars 1) giza 7 a dual i.e double purpose one tends to straw yield, fiber, and 2) giza 8 as a dual i.e. double purpose one tends to seed yield, oil, as well as, viking cultivar which was introduced from holland as a fiber cultivar.
