Physiolgical and Technological Studies On Casuarina Seedlings

Casuarinas are the most common fast growing species in Egypt. Four distinct species have been recently identified in Egypt,namely, Casuaina gLauca, Casuarina cunninghamiana, Casuaina equuiseetifolia and the natural hybrid between C. glouca and C. cunninghamiana (Badran et al., 1976) Casuarinas are planted principally in Egypt as superior windbreaks for farms and new desert shettlement. Furthermore, casuarina have a healthy benifit as for countering the hazard effects of the environment contamination sources. the Present work aimes to Study the effect of Salinity level and potassium fertilization rate on vegetaive growth, chemical content and wood properties of the two common casuarina species grown in Egypt (c. glauca and c. cunninghamiana).
