Nutritional Studies On Using Rumen Contents In Animal Nutrition

In Egypt, feedstuffs for livestock insufficient for adequate livestock feeding. This is because only 9.6 million tons are annually produced, providing 75% of livestock energy requirements While the total of abour 13.00 million tons of total digestible nutries nts (TDN) per year are required. Also this problem is due to unequal distribution of green forages around the year, especially in summer, when the available feeds ( mainly straw and little concentrates) cover only 39 and 37% of animal requirements for energy and protein, respectively .Rumen contents contain high protein , a good source of vit . B12 . Also, rumen liquor is rich in nutrients including food particles, micro-organisms and fermentation products .The aim of this study is to evaluate the nutritional value of sun dried rumen contents (SDRC); to examin the possibility of utilizing (SDRC) in feeding trail of sheep at different stages; to define the effects of feeding (SDRC) on milk yield of ewes, milk composition and growth performance of lambs.
