Its current major use is as an additive to water-base drilling musds in the oil well drilling industry. in addition, the meal left after gum extraction contains about 35% protein and is useful as a livestock feed supplement. in egypt guarcould be considered as a potential alternative summer crop in the rotaion or intercropping with grain and vegetable crops.This study was performed in order to determine the optimum varieties of maize as will as optimum seeding rates of guar under the optimum level of N fertilizer when guar and maize were intercropped.
