Abstract:
The popularity of rabbits meat in Egypt is a well recognized fact. However, research in the field of rabbits nutrition is very limited. There is a need for economic ration formulation for increasing meat production from these rapidly reproducing and growing animals. Urea and other non-protein nitrogenous (NPN) compounds may be included in ration for growing-finishing rabbits, as a source of cheep nitrogen. The research reported her-in was designed therfore to Test the performances of two breeds of rabbits of tabbits when fed urea in their diets and to test the coprophagic ability of the animal by comparative digestion trials.
