Abstract:
Raising farm animals on high levels of nutrition, generally, leads to obvious improvement in reproductive capabilities. Similarly, the well fed bull fed bull-calves reach puberty earlier and could be used at an earlier age than poorly fed ones. In addition, the bulls fed on high level of nutrition are capable of producing semen of high quality. This helps in testing the bulls for breeding early and all the rest which will be fattened. The crossbred animals exceeded the purebred ones in productive and reproductive performance. The aim of the present work was to study the effect of feeding levek on reproductive performance in shorthorn crosses and native cattle under Egyptian condition.
