Poultry Manure and Urea as Protein Supplements in Sheep Rations

This study was carried out to Evaluate poultry manure and urea as protein supplements for sheep conure and urea as protein supplements for sheep consuming low quality roughage Wheat straw) in metabolism trials, and for growing lambs in applied feading. The followling items were studied : I- Metabolism trials with sheep fed wheat straw supplemented with a concentrate feed mixture (FM), dehydrated poultry manure (DPM) or urea-molassesmixture ( UM). The studied. parameters were:a) Voluntary intake. b) Nutrient digestibilities. c) Nutritional balances. d)Rumen liquor characteristicse)Dry matter disappearance of wheat straw in the rumen.2- field trial using the above protein supplements in rations fed to growing rahmany lambs to investigate: a)Gain in body weight. b) Feed efficiency.
