Abstract:
It has been anticipated that by year 2000 the population of Egypt may reach 70 millions. There is shortage of protein source and energy for human and animal consumpton in Egypt. The production of leaf protein concentrate (LPC) from a conventional and unconventional plants would, therfor offer excellent approach to make the bost use of such a crop. First , it would eliminate losses of the excess of protein and second, the extracted protein as LPC could be recycled in animal feeds.The aim of this study were :Cultivation, nutritional evaluation and utilization of cassava foliage, leaves and tops by rabbits and sheep. Cultivation, nutritional evaluation and utilization of sugar and fodder beet leaves and roots by rabbits and sheep. Extraction and nutritional evaluation of leaf protein concentrate (LPC) from cassava aerial parts and fodder beet leaves.
