Effect of Gamma- Irradiation and Some Growth Regulators on Growth and Oil Yield in Sweet Basil Under Saline Condtiton

The effect of cycocel, and/or gamma-irradiation on salt tolerance of sweet basil plants has not been studied under the Egyptian conditions. Therefor, The Purpose of the present work was to Clarify tolerance ofsweet basil to saline water irrigation. Evaluate the effects of gamma-irradiation doses on sweet basil . Study the efficiency of cycocel and gamma-irradiation treatments to overcome the aeletrious effects of salinity on sweet basil. However, cosiderabl attention has been focused on the combined effect of salinity, cycocel and gamma-irradiation upon growth, oil yield and chemical constituents of sweet basil as indications for the extent of plant tolerance to those unfaourable conditions.
