Abstract:
the puropose of the present study is to the performance of friesion and holstein - friesian breeds, under Egyption covditions. The main objectives of the study are: 1. In the calf: Estimatation of the calf performance traits Birth, weight, weaning weigh and pre-wearage daily gain) and calf mortality in imported and locally cows. 2. In cows: The comparison between the imported and locally born friesian cattle for the first lactation milk yield, and the estimatation the partial regession coefficient of their first lactation milk yield on first lactation milk yield in Holland, Egypt, and all dams. Studing the differences in total milk yield and calf production up to five years of age in imported and locally born freiesian cattle. Using stepwise and general Linear Model procedures to obtain prediction equation for total milk yield, total milk yield without first lactation milk yield, calf production and calf production without first calving up to five years of age , by using many productive and reproductive traits.
