Biochemical Studies on Drought In Some Plants

Whrat is one of the main cereal crops in A.R.E. The policy of the country aims to improve wheat production so as to meet the increasing demand of the local consumption. Also, barley is an important which is used for malting and animal feed. considerable areas in sinai or at the Northern coast are planned to be or being planted with either wheat or barley depending on rainfall. as rainfall is not regular under the weather conditions of Egypt, these are likely to be subjected to occasional incidences of drought. Also, plants grown in the new reclaimed areas may subjected to insufficient water supply. our study was oriented to investigate the effect of occasional drought at different stages of plant life on the different chemical constituents of the plant organs through- out the whole life of plants.
