Physiological Studies on Mangoes

The present investigation was planned to study concurrently the growth, flowering malformation, yield and fruit quality of some local mango cvs. produced from the sexual (Zygote) origin and grown at Abou-Hammad Region,Sharkia,Governorate. In addition, the seedling mango cultivars were compared with the famous cv. Cobania, grown in the same orchard. the behaviour of trees and fruit quality in”ON” and ”OFF” year were also considered. Such studies are of major importance for selection of the most promising local cultivars as starters for new cultivars for sharkia extention or for other regions.
