Abstract:
Due to the limited natural water resources . The horizontal expansion of agricultural lands in Egypt necesstates the use of low quality waters in soils reclamation and in some instances . In irrigating the newly reclaimed soils . The use of such waters is expected to affect salt distribtion throughout the soil profile . Particularly within the root zone which is more concerned from the agricultural view point . Moreover , the use of low quality water may also cause unfavourable effect on nutrients status . behaviour and distribution due to their possible leaching downward the soil profile or at least out of the root zone . Therefore, the current research points to an Evaluation of salt redistribution pertaining to the use of different water types and their consequent effects on the extent of leachability of inherited micronutrients in some soils rep-resenting calcareous. lacustrine and sandy soils which are available for horizontal land expansion.
