Abstract:
The composition of the various polypeptide fractions and subfractions constituting the seed proteins has been given special consideration in the present study . For this purpose , the SDS-PAGE (Sodium Dodecyl Sulphate Polyacrylamide Gel Elecrophoresis) technique was applied to differentiate between the cultivars , the mutants and F1 hybrids derived from them . These studies would furnish more informations about the manner of transmission of genes controlling these protein fractions from parents to offsprings , and to relate protein quality with various cooking quality characters.
