Abstract:
Rice is the principal food of about half of the world population specially in the coastal regions . In Egypt , it competes with wheat in the Egyptian diets and it is one of the important economical crop grown in Egypt . Increasing rice production has two-folds advantages namely meeting the increasing local human consuption and improving capacity of the source of hard currency needed for the economical development of Egypt . Increasing production of rice can be met only by improving the productivity of the grown rice cultivars since rice is not efficient as for as water consumption is concerned . Nitrogen is a key element in cereals nutrition and rice is not excluded . Determination of the optimum nitrogen level for different rice cultivars is an important practice since nitrogen level is correlated much with the amount of vegetable growth which in turn is correlated with the susceptibility of cereals to certain diseases like, lodging and rice blast . This Study Was Performed To Determine The Optimum Time Of Planting Of Three Rice Cultivars Inciuding Riho, Local Released Cultivar (Giza171)and Newly Imported Promising On (Ir I6-26).
