Aphidophagous insects associated

Experiments were carried out during two successive seasons (1997/98 and 1998/99.) and (1997 and 1998) in Fakous district, Sharkia Governorate to survey aphid species infesting wheat and maize plants and aphidophagous insect predators associated with aphid infestation on wheat and maize plants. Four aphid species were found infesting wheat plants. Two aphid species were recorded on maize plants. Data obtained indicated that aphidophagous insect predators associated with aphids infesting wheat and maize plants are found belonging to three and four insect orders, respectively. It could be concluded that, maize plants were severely infested with aphids comparing to wheat plants in both seasons of study.
