Abstract:
The objectives of this study were: To evaluate two methods of selection (i. e. half- sib and s1 line ) , for improving the grain yield of two different maize populations representing different genetic backgrounds. To examine the effect of three selection intensities (10, 20, and 30% ) 0n grain yeild and other attributes in the two populations. To ascertain if the different genetic back ground of the two populations (i. e. American Early Dent and Gemmeiza-7421 )influences the response to selection.
