Abstract:
ُ production of ducks may share in solving the problem of insufficiency of animal protein and hence may contribute to food, security projects, in Egypt. The main channel for lncreasing the production of ducklings for meat is to improve egg production in laying ducks. The present investigation was carried out to study some factors affecting egg production traits in Pekin ducks, under the prevailing conditions in the poultry Farm, Faculty of Agriculture at Zagazig, Egypt. Heritability estimates of these traits, as well as the phenotypic and genetic correlation coefficients among these traits were also calculated. and discussed..Egg Production traits involved in this study were age of uck at fist egg and first egg weight, as well as, egg number, egg weight, egg mass, egg shape index, clutch length, pause length, pause length, persistency and intensity of laying at different partial record periods.
