Abstract:
Irrigation water is one of the limiting factors of the economical development of agricultural based on land reclamation. Not onl.v the quantity but also the quality of irrigation limit the suitability of irrigation water and control soil salinization. Irrjgation water la generally classified according to the total soluble sal ts and sodium hazard : beside domonation of some especial ions. The values representing total soluble salts are usually measured by electrical conductivity, Also, sodium hazar. is recorded as sodium saturation percentage or sodium adsorption ratio. The main damage of using bad water is its deteriorating effect on soil physical properties mainly its permeability as a result of dispersing soil particles. from the chemical point of view the quality of water is responsible for the equilibrium between the soluble cations in the soil solution and the exchangeable ones, Also, the specific effect of some ions may limit the suitability of irrigation water. study the effect of different irrigation water quality on physical and chemical properties of some selected soil differed in their texture. Also, the changes in chemical composition of irrigation water were taken in consideration.
